For me, being a furniture maker is about building pieces that are a balance of function and beauty through the blending of my appreciation for traditional furniture with an unbridled enthusiasm for creativity and design. I specialize in custom furniture, and my additional skills and interests include custom built-ins, architectural detailing, turning, carving, as well as fine art painting and sculpture.

I studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design where I earned my bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. One of my first jobs was at the Columbus Museum of Art, where I became interested in restoring period picture frames. This interest led me to Hackman Frames of Worthington, OH, where I had the opportunity to hone my skills and explore the trade, gaining extensive experience in carving, finishing, and restoration.

The fine details of the craft intrigued me and inspired me to try my hand at working more in depth with wood. I enrolled in an intensive course of study in fine woodworking where I acquired a foundational knowledge and deeper appreciation for 18th and early 19th century furniture. It was then that I began to realize my true potential as an artist and craftsman.

Eventually, I opened my own studio, establishing a place where I can create works of art that provide both function and inspiration for my clients. Every piece or project is grounded in a history of strength, grace, and good design, embellished by a passion for a creative freedom and a desire to give each client the finished piece he or she desires.
